Our History

Since Franklin Energy's founding in 1994, we have built a legacy delivering energy solutions to hundreds of clients and millions of customers. We've established a reputation as the team that goes above and beyond to deliver results for our clients as we support homeowners, business, and communities.

Our Present

In many ways, we're just getting started. We spent last year taking large strides toward achieving our goals across all departments by implementing new trainings, optimizing our processes, and completing two exciting acquisitions.

Our Future

We continue to invest in key priorities like training and education, diversity and inclusion initiatives, innovative technology, and much more. As the energy landscape continues to change and grow, we remain at the forefront of the evolution.

Making a Purpose-Driven Impact, One Customer at a Time

Scaling Decarbonization

This year, we launched an Inclusive Utility Investment (IUI) program to decarbonize single-family and multifamily dwellings at scale, managing installation while providing significant upgrades for residential customers to save on bills, overcoming the tenant-landlord split-incentive issue and attracting external capital without burdening taxpayers or utility customers.

Preventing Wildfires

We collaborated to develop a solution addressing wildfires' impact on grid stability and utility finances by decarbonizing commercial customers in California, installing renewable energy systems for a remote grid, implementing efficiency measures, and replacing fire-prone distribution lines to enhance reliability, mitigate fire risk, and improve energy efficiency for customers.

Transforming Home Efficiency

When tasked by a northeastern utility to develop and implement cost-effective residential strategies benefiting income-qualified and market-rate customers in Delaware, our team successfully executed two impactful programs, resulting in multiple Energy Star awards for the utility, $9,705,788 in incentives paid out, and 10,730 MWh of energy savings achieved to date.

Offering EV Charger Rentals

In response to the surge in electric vehicle adoption in 2023, driven by new models and incentives, we addressed concerns about limited EV charging infrastructure by offering a rental program providing affordable charging solutions to utility customers, with plans to expand nationwide in 2024, aiming to promote equitable transportation electrification.

Scaling Marketplaces

Our newest marketplace features remove purchase and installation barriers to increase energy savings, and they help achieve demand reduction and electrification goals. The marketplace is able to meet utilities' quick-launch needs today with the option to dynamically scale and deliver more robust features, products, and program additions in the future.

Empowering the Regulatory Landscape

Following the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), we are offering innovative solutions to state energy offices and utilities, including our whole-home approach tailored to maximize funding opportunities and facilitate a customer-focused transition toward home energy savings and emission reductions.

Franklin Energy has been a great place for me to grow. I love that I get to do something to help others besides just 'selling a product.'

Throughout my 8 years, I've gained so many great, lasting relationships with team members who I trust and know will have my back. I have been given opportunities to lead strong teams, assist and support company initiatives, and network with industry leaders—all while being able to provide stability for my family, which I am grateful for.
