Energy Smart Programs offered to South Haven Customers

The City of South Haven is pleased to introduce the Energy Smart Program to encourage customers of our electric utility to save energy. Various programs have been developed for our customers based on customer classification. During 2009, residential customers may participate in the Residential Efficient Lighting Program or the Residential Refrigerator/Freezer Turn-In and Recycling Program. Commercial and industrial customers may participate in the Prescriptive or Custom Incentive Program. Commercial & Industrial Prescriptive and Custom Incentives

The prescriptive program offers incentives when replacing inefficient equipment with high efficiency technologies on a one-for-one basis. If your project is among those listed on the prespcriptive portion of this application form, simply complete the form and submit for your incentive.

Energy efficiency improvements that are not included in the prescriptive portion of the incentive application may qualify for custom incentives. See the "Custom" tab on the form below. Download the incentive application here and call the program office at
877-674-7281 to discuss your project. Custom incentives must be preapproved by program staff.

Residential Refrigerator/Freezer Turn-In and Recycling Program

Older model refrigerators and freezers typically use twice the electricity as newer models. Residential customers can save energy, be environmentally responsible and receive a $30 rebate! Residential High-efficiency HVAC Systems

When you update your home’s heating or cooling, be sure to select high-efficiency equipment. Qualified central air conditioning units, heat pumps, gas furnaces with ECM motors and ENERGY STAR® room air conditioners and dehumidifiers are eligible for rebates. You’ll save money with lower utility bills and receive a cash rebate! Download the incentive application below for details about program and equipment qualifications.
