Franklin Energy Named to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's "Top 100 Workplaces" in southeastern Wisconsin for 2010

May 23, 2010

Franklin Energy employees responded to a voluntary survey conducted by WorkplaceDynamics on behalf of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. As a result, Franklin Energy was named one of the Top 100 Workplaces in southeastern Wisconsin for 2010. There were 1,193 companies invited to participate. The firm ranked 24 in the "small company" category, having fewer than 150 employees. Franklin Energy employs more than 200 employees in multiple states, howeve the survey was restricted to its southeastern Wisconsin workforce of 106.

The survey categorized statements into six areas: Direction, Execution, Career, Conditions, Managers, and Pay & Benefits. Employees were asked to rank their degree of agreement or disagreement with the statements. Some of the statements that Franklin Energy employees ranked highest on were:

•I believe this organization is going in the right direction.

Franklin Energy Staff Efforts Lead to ENERGY STAR Award

The EPA/ENERGY STAR recently honored organizations for their commitment to energy-efficiency. Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy Program received the ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence award highlighting contributions by the commercial program managed by Franklin Energy. This is the third straight year the commercial team has been recognized for their achievements in Program Implementation.

(Left) Warren Graham, team lead and Energy Engineer for Franklin accepted the award from EPA Administrator, Lisa Jackson at a ceremony held March 18 in Washington, D.C.

The commercial sector of Focus on Energy assists all commercial businesses but proactively targets four segments due to their high energy use: healthcare, hospitality, grocery and large commercial buildings. Each target market has a team dedicated to developing informational and incentive offerings directed to each market’s needs and opportunities. This target market approach allows Focus on Energy to effectively manage small projects, while proactively targeting large energy savings opportunities.
